Bass -N- Beer by Johnny

Sawadi-kap & Greetings from Thailand. Nothing goes better together than bass finshin’ and beer drinkin’. And beer companies do some of best advertisements of bass fishing with artwork on their cans, labels, posters and memorabilia. In this report is my digital beer can collection, all found online.

Many moons ago, I had a real beer can collection that was housed in my parent’s basement / rec-room. It had a bar, dartboard and pool table. Lining the walls on shelves and highlighted by Christmas lights these cans added a lot to the atmosphere.

My displayed beer can collection was under 1000 but boxes and boxes of duplicates were stored in one of the rooms in the attic. I could see that some day many of these would become valuable. So many were American Bicentennial (1776 – 1976) Special Edition cans. But when Mom & Dad decided to relocate, the entire beer can collection was liquidated.

A beer can collection is a great hobby, especially collecting & drinking new brews. But it does require a bit more space than say a stamp or coin collection. I still keep up with the beer can collectors on FB here: Beer Can Collectors of Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/groups/37672064369/

Listed are two of my favorite fishing locations. Hands down, the Susquehanna River is my favorite for smallmouth bass fishing. Fished many places on the river with my Dad. But only in Black Walnut, Pennsylvania after Mom & Dad got the summer home there. Many great memories were had there.

I spent many years assigned to the 19th Army Band, Fort Dix, New Jersey. Had my small jon boat that lived atop my Subaru 4WD. Summertime in an army band meant working nearly every weekend. So, we were comped two weekdays off. Great as only others found out fishing were a few retired guys. Best largemouth bass fishing spot I found was Stone Tavern Lake, Allentown, New Jersey.

As the summer season comes to an end, I hope those of you that fish had a good season. Luckily beer drinking is an all-year-round season. Until next report, Cheers & Stay Well. – Johnny
